Arrest of student leaders

Student leaders Yashar Ghajar and Abed Tavancheh were arrested in May 2006.

They were signatories to the statement signed by five student leaders opposing the aggressive policies of the US and its allies against Iran while at the same time opposing the nuclear and antidemocratic policies of the Islamic regime in Iran

A campaign has been started to gain their unconditional release and we ask all those whose heart beats for democracy to help in this campaign.

In particular we ask student unions to mobilise the broadest possible protest movement.
